  • Our mission is to provide these individuals with opportunities to pursue careers in sports and entertainment while ensuring they receive the necessary support to manage their health effectively.
  • BoldJourney was founded by Lunga Thomas, a CKD survivor currently on dialysis and recently approved for a kidney transplant.
  • His personal experience of overcoming medical adversity while striving for professional excellence inspired the creation of this initiative.
  • The Thrive Program is BoldJourney’s flagship initiative designed to provide holistic wellness and performance support for participants.
  • It includes personalized wellness plans, access to medical experts, performance optimization, mental health and emotional support, and incentive-based health engagement.
  • Over the next three years, we will select talented youth aged 10 to 18 who are living with chronic conditions such as asthma, CKD, diabetes, hypertension, and depression.
  • Through our mobile platform, we will invite these individuals to submit short video clips showcasing their talents.
  • A panel of experts from various sports and arts disciplines will evaluate the submissions, and selected participants will be required to share their medical profiles, which will be kept confidential.
  • They will then be matched with our support system, including doctors, nutritionists, mentors, and coaches, to provide personalized assistance.
  • For talented participants in football, we aim to secure placements with some of the top PSL Football Academies.
  • We also ensure that their coaches are equipped with medical knowledge to manage players with chronic conditions.
  • For creative artists and musicians, we also looking at partnering with some of top record labels like Kalawa Jazmee Records and PianoHub by Kabza De Small, providing similar support systems.
  • This comprehensive support network is referred to as the “Safety Net.”
  • Parents or guardians are actively involved in the journey, providing them with resources and education to support their child’s development.
  • We maintain open communication channels to keep families informed of progress and any necessary adjustments to the support plan.
  • BoldJourney has developed comprehensive crisis management protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
