BoldJourney is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B- BBEE) entity dedicated to empowering individuals, particularly children and youth living with chronic conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, asthma, and other long term health challenges, to achieve and pursue their dreams in the sports and entertainment industry.
Our mission is to provide these individuals with opportunities to pursue careers in sports and entertainment while ensuring they receive the necessary support to manage their health effectively.
Founded by Lunga Thomas, a CKD survivor currently on dialysis and recently approved for a kidney transplant, BoldJourney is a deeply personal initiative born from the lived experience of overcoming medical adversity while striving for professional excellence.
Through strategic partnerships and advocacy, we aim to break barriers, reduce stigma, and create inclusive spaces where talent thrives regardless of health conditions.
BoldJourney was inspired by Lunga Thomas’ personal struggle with CKD, the challenges of managing a chronic illness, and the realization that many talented individuals are overlooked due to their health conditions.
His extensive experience in sports sponsorship and marketing, combined with his resilience and determination, shaped BoldJourney into an initiative that blends advocacy, talent development, and holistic support.
Through partnerships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, entertainment agencies, and sports organizations, BoldJourney aims to transform the landscape for individuals living with chronic conditions, ensuring they are seen, valued, and supported.
